Abstract


In Indonesia, Coastal waters with 81,791 km of length was strategic region, because about 60% inhabitant lived in this region, and then this Coastal waters conditions have a trend critical environmental degradation. This surveying to detection a water quality of Coastal waters in Jakarta (Ciliwung rivers), Semarang (Banjir Kanal Timur rivers), and Jepara (Demaan rivers) with using a pollution index methods and proporsioned with a Quality of water standards, Result of this surveying are pollution index value of water at Ciliwung rivers is 9.54 (middle pollution), Banjir Kanal Timur rivers is 8.19 (middle pollution), and Demaan rivers is 8.16 (middle pollution), and so pollution index value of water at Ciliwung estuary is 10.39 (heavy pollution), Banjir Kanal Timur estuary is 5.22 (middle pollution), and Demaan estuary is 5.34 (middle pollution). Mean pollution index value of water at sea region in Jakarta is 2.92 (light pollution), Semarang is 1.80 (light pollution), and Jepara is 2.59 (light poluution), and then Condition of Jakarta coastal waters is very bad of Semarang, and Semarang coastal waters as bad as Jepara. Trend of pollution grade with inhabitant ammount of Coastal waters illustrating a inhabitantammount lows is not cause pollution grade lows. Distribution of Concentration values of DO parameter have a different caracteristics in Coastal waters, and so Concentration values of BOD, and COD parameters are average distributions in Coastal waters.A Concept of water quality managements in Coastal waters in Jakarta, Semarang, and Jepara are formulating two strategics, there are minimize of frequence and ammount of domestic wastewater to trow away in river with phisical and non phisical activities, and so goal of this activity is water as good as a Quality of water standards.
