MENINGKATKAN CBR DAN MEMPERKECIL SWELLING TANAH SUB GRADE DENGAN METODE STABILISASI TANAH DAN KAPUR

Abstract


The condition of Sendang Mulyo road is not good and always be damaged even though the coating of road surface has been carried out. This is due to the fact that road internodes of Sendang Mulyo locates on the clay, so that it may causes instability of base soil causing structure destruction of coarsening layer on it. In order to solve the problem, the base soil should be repaired/destabilized. In this research, the writer conducted soil stabilization by adding lime from Purwodadi. The aim of the research is to find out the lime percentage, so that CBR and max dry density will be obtained, to find out the effect of lime adding with Swelling (kembang susut) and California Bearing Ratio (CBR). The testing was performed at the laboratory with lime percentage of 0%, 5%, 8%, 10%, 12%. The testing data includes: physical characteristics (specific gravity, Plasticity Index, decrease limit, grain pass from the filter no.200)., mechanical characteristics (optimum water degree, maximum dry density, CBR, Swelling). Dry density increases from 1,485% to 1,64%, From data analysis, it was obtained the result that in lime percentage of 10% produces CBR scale experiencing maximum increase from 2,45% to 7,6%, swelling decreases from 5,127% to 1,331%. The effect of lime adding upon swelling may be written as follows y = -0,0109X2 – 0,2469X + 5,2528, (y = swelling, x = lime percentage), the effect of lime adding with CBR is y = -0,0766X2 + 3,6352X + 2,3048 (y = CBR, x = lime percentage).
