PENURUNAN NILAI ABSORBSI DAN ABRASI BETON DENGAN PENAMBAHAN CALCIUM STEARATE DAN FLY ASH

Abstract


 The concrete usage in building that contacted directly with water such as a concrete roof, water tank, basement and rigid pavement needs waterproof concrete. It has foresight to prevent chemical compound infiltration that can cause steel damage in reinforced concrete. Absorption occurs when water enters in concrete by pores. Absorption of normal concrete is very high so water can penetrate into concrete though without pressure. Concrete associated with abrasion and impact, such as rigid pavement and breakwater, should be designed accurately. This research aims to know the influence of calcium stearate and fly ash in concrete absorption and abrasion. Two series samples of normal concrete contained fly ash 0% and 40% of cement weigh were mixed with 0 kg, 1kg, 2kg and 4 kg of calcium stearate respectively. The results indicated that 40% fly ash substitution and calcium stearate addition in concrete increase quality of normal concrete. Compressive strength increase 2.98%, Absorption decrease 36.48% and abrasion decrease 47.50% after be used 40.00% fly ash and 4 kg calcium stearate addition
