Author Guidelines

SUBMISSION OF CONTRIBUTIONS

Submission is a representation that the manuscript is original unpublished and is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Contributions are accepted on the understanding that the author have obtained the necessary authority for publication. To Facilitate communication, authors are requested to provide their current correspondence and e-mail address, telephone and fax numbers.

 

Authors should submit 2 (two) copies of their manuscripts and an electronic version of their manuscript on CD-R/CD-RW to the Editorial Office of through the following e-mail: editor_makara@yahoo.com, editor_makara@ui.edu if not bigger than 2 MB. The file name(s), the title and author of the manuscript must be indicated on the CD-R/CD-RW. The CD-R/CD-RW must always be accompanied by a hard-copy version of the manuscript, and the content of the two must be identical. The manuscript must be prepared using Microsoft Word for Windows 6.0 or higher version.

 

The manuscript should be written  in English or Indonesian according to the Instruction to Authors of Makara Seri Teknologi. The Maximum length of the manuscript should be no more than 6 pages. The Editorial Board reserves the right to adjust format to certain standards of uniformity. All Manuscript submitted to Makara Seri Teknologi will be subjected to peer and/or editorial review. The referreeing process is anonymous and independent. The Editor provides a final decision on acceptance of the paper for publication. The authors will be notified by the Editor of the acceptance of the manuscript. Authors may require revising their manuscript (if any) and return in 14 days. Any query should be answer in full. The changes of the revised  manuscript should be clearly indicated on the list of correction. The authors can make only a minor revision such  typographical error, no major changes are accepted to the revised manuscript. The author should check carefully the typesetting and editing also completeness and correctness of the text, tables and figures of the revised manuscripts. Manuscripts with excessive typographical errors may be returned to authors for retyping. Authors are reminded that delays in publication may occur if the instructions for submission and disk also manuscript preparation are not strictly followed. Rejected manuscripts will be  returned to the author if requested in advance. The authors whose paper is rejected by referee have a right to ask the editor to find another referee as long as the authors have the argument that the paper has not been objectively refereed.

 

Ten reprints will be supplied free of change. Additional reprints and copies of the issue can be ordered at specially reduced rate from the Editorial Office after the revised manuscript has been received. Orders for reprints (produced after publication of the manuscript) will incur a 50% surcharge. An Order form containing price quotations will be sent to the authors together with the acceptance of the revised manuscript. Upon acceptance of the manuscript by the Journal, the author(s) will be asked to transfer the signed original copyright form to the Editor. This transfer will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review) have been followed.
