PENGARUH KONDISI FERMENTASI TERHADAP YIELD ETANOL PADA PEMBUATAN BIOETANOL DARI PATI GARUT

Abstract


In this paper, preparing of bioethanol from garut starch needs some steps. Respectively, there were hydrolysis where starch were converted to be glucose, fermentation using Sacharomyces cereviceae to convert glucose become ethanol, and distillation to concentrate the ethanol. In the ferme step, the effects of temperature (30oC and 35oC) and condition of yeast (dried yeast and slant agar) on glucose reduction were studied. Hydrolysis were carri d out in tree necked bottle equipped thermometer, reflux condenser and magnetic stirrer. The starch were hydrolyzed using hydro chloride at 100oC during 1 hour. The glucose were fermented in closed erlenmeyer as the fermentor equipped by gas xhause pipe and sample collection pipe. The glucose concentration in the sample were determined. Distillation was operated in packing distillation column. The results of these experiments provide the information that using dried yeast will and temperature of 35oC give higher glucose reduction during fermentation and more ethanol yield.
